THE SOFT EARTH SPEAKS
After 46 years of having a fuel-burning kiln, I dismantled mine and pots available here and at my seaside studio are what remain. Call or email to arrange a studio visit.
Two new endeavors are using the Airbnb platform to offer rooms in my home and Experiences at my studio. The first you can find as Woodsy Sunrise and another is Sunrise Light near Village and Beaches. There are three Experiences (workshops) listed with Airbnb and they are:
This is the people part of what’s going on with Joan and her Soft Earth studio? The building itself just got a new window and I've been making ‘location stations’ for others to be in there, dipping and diving into "the learning that’s alive for them” (a quote from the "Nature" article that quoted me).
Studio visitors asked countless times, "Do you teach?" The workshops in Airbnb Experiences are one answer to that. Why use the Airbnb platform? They offer calendars, cancellation policies, rules, and descriptions that sum it up. And insurance. They help separate the business part from the interactive human part. Show up at my door at the appointed time and let’s manifest the possible.
I'd like to co-design independent studies as a partner and creative ally. For paths leading to mastery, people might need their own studios.
The "About" section is dense with information about my ceramic work and history including articles and videos. Store section is what's available for purchase.
