"Where the Gulf Stream Turns"
11.5" x 3.75"
One of the few left with coordinates, same glaze on interior and exterior but applied thickly inside so it flowed and pooled. Exterior shows the speckles of foraminifera shells. Rim detail shows merging of sediment with matte glaze assembled from refined materials.
Scientist Lloyd Kegwin told me this is from Norfolk Slope, east of Virginia Capes and at that time he added, "It's from where the Gulf Stream turns". Who's guess, with terrestrial and atmospheric changes, where that turning is now.
