THE SOFT EARTH SPEAKS
Melting Earth’s deposits into ceramic glazes has helped me fathom deep time and vast space. Working with fire has helped me experience a sense of intimacy with Earth’s core dynamics and systems of all sorts. Before I ever made pots I worked with Earth's pigments ground into paints.
After 46 years of having a fuel-burning kiln, I dismantled mine in October, 2016. Pots in the store here, and some at my seaside studio are what remains. My amazement seems worth dispersing so I had sets of cards printed on paper and glaze images printed on silks.
There's lots of content within this website and you'll be able to find more as time passes. Soon to appear are images from "I Ching": the Book of Changes -- I've been painting on paper, a calm-down for my brain after 22 years of too many 'doings', especially with computer.
I've been written into a National Science Foundation grant proposal for "Advancing Informal STEM Learning", using arts for increasing general public's science literacy. Fingers crossed.
